 SITUATIONAL AWARENESS and Resource Management

Level 1.0

Cognitive SARM Ability The student demonstrated an inability to state SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures.

Corrective Action Ability: The student made major strategic or tactical RM corrective action deviations or omissions that made accomplishment of performance of maneuvers and procedures impossible.

Instructor Intervention: The instructor was required to demonstrate proper SARM procedures.

Level 1.5

Cognitive SARM Ability: The student demonstrated limited ability to state SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures.

Corrective Action ability: The student can begin strategic or tactical RM corrective actions, but performance deteriorates quickly.

Instructor Intervention: Extensive instructor intervention is required.

Level 2.0

Cognitive SARM ability: The student has a basic understanding of SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures, but demonstrated significant SARM errors or deviations.

Corrective Action ability: Performance would jeopardize safety or mission accomplishment.

Instructor Intervention: Moderate instructor intervention is required.

Level 2.5

Cognitive SARM ability: The student demonstrated errors or deviations in stating SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures.

Corrective Action ability: Performance contains some errors and deviations.

Instructor Intervention: The instructor must provide coaching.

Level 3.0

Cognitive SARM ability: The student demonstrated slight errors or deviations in SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures.

Corrective Action ability: Performance contains minor errors and deviations.

Instructor Intervention: Limited coaching is required.

Level 3.5

Cognitive SARM ability: The student demonstrated minor errors or deviations in stating SA Judgments and RM Decisions associated with performance of maneuvers and procedures.

Corrective Action ability: The student was able to correct minor errors.

Instructor Intervention: No assistance in correcting errors is required.

Level 4.0
